First 85m superyacht platform ready at Doerries Maritime

A range of superyacht platforms from 50m to 90m are under development at Doerries Maritime Services.

The first platform to be ready is a 85m designed by H2 Yacht Design and based on the 82m Graceful, currently under construction at Blohm + Voss in Hamburg. Clients will benefit from reduced build time and engineering cost by using technical platforms that have been pre-designed but still can be modified to accommodate special requests.

‘It has same platform as Graceful, and we tried to keep the best bits, such as the beach club and folding platforms,’ says Jonny Horsfield of H2 Yacht Design, ‘but Graceful is very unique – we kept the mechanically platform and made a more universally appealing layout.'

According to Horsfield, an interesting detail that sets the new platform apart is the stainless steel coating on the bow. ‘It’s an unusual stainless steel finish that hasn’t been in that kind of scale before,’ he says.

The main features of the 85m are a 130sqm owners' cabin with private office and gym, two VIP cabins with balconies, a 150 sqm beach club with sea-terraces, a 65sqm spa, owners and guest entrance on lower deck, a tender garage for two 11m tenders and a helipad.
