First Oceanic 90 superyacht sold by Canados

9 January 2014

The Italian builder Canados has sold the first 27.8m superyacht in its Oceanic Yachts line to a Russian owner.

The interior design of the Oceanic 90, which was already in-build on-spec, will be fully customised to the client. Amenities will include an upper deck owner’s suite with a private terrace, plus a VIP and two guest cabins on the lower deck. A 6.5m tender will be stored on the aft deck, while two personal watercrafts will be kept in the transom garage.

The interior décor, designed by Canados’s in-house design studio with the owner, incorporates limed oak, macassar, ebony, wengé, lacquered wood and bamboo.

The planned Oceanic Yachts line was unveiled in November. It consists of two fast explorer yachts of 27 and 42 metres, designed to offer both low fuel consumption at economical speeds and high performance when required.

They will feature long ranges, large outdoor and indoor volumes and space to carry large toys and tenders. Also, notably, the yard’s ‘displaning’ hull design allows low running costs at low speeds in displacement mode and good performance at semi-planing speeds.

The first Oceanic 90 features twin Caterpillar C32 Acert engines offering 1,925hp and a top speed of 27.5 knots. The yacht is due to be delivered in June 2014 and will debut at the Cannes Boat Show in 2014.
