Episode One: Jonathan Beckett, CEO Burgess

For the first episode of the new series, BOAT International editor Stewart Campbell interviews Burgess CEO Jonathan Beckett, discussing how the pandemic is affecting the current brokerage market. Beckett predicted that some of the industry's top superyachts could be listed for sale as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

In episode two, superyacht owner Anil Thadani talks about cruising the artic on board his 45 metre Timmerman yacht Latitude. Thadani reminisced about his journeys to the Svalbard archipelago, crossings of the Northwest Passage and encounters with polar bears.

BOAT editor Stewart Campbell talks to former F1 boss Eddie Jordan in the third episode of At Home with BOAT. Jordan, who owns 45 metre Perini Navi sailing yacht Blush, talked about how long stretches spent sailing around the world helped him prepare for life in self-isolation.

For the fourth episode, BOAT editor Stewart Campbell interviewed Winch Design founder Andew Winch. The designer, who has worked on yachts including Tis and Here Comes The Sun, reflected back on the studio’s first motor yacht project and the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on the current industry.

In episode five, the founder of Studio Indigo, Mike Fisher, talked about design projects still currently underway at the firm despite the coronavirus lockdown. Studio Indigo has worked on yachts including Joy and Project Witchcraft, as well as Fisher's own yacht Brigadoon.

Raphael Sauleau

In the sixth episode of At Home with BOAT, Fraser CEO Raphael Sauleau talks to BOAT editor Stewart Campbell about how the charter industry is responding to the pandemic. Sauleau suggested that, after COVID-19 travel bans are lifted, we could see a strong Caribbean charter season for winter 2020.

For episode nine, serial superyacht owner Carl Allen talks about his superyacht fleet, including his 50 metre Westport Gigi and 55 metre Damen support vessel Axis. As a keen big-game fisherman, diver, and explorer, his yachts carry an impressive arsenal of toys on board, from a Triton submarine to an amphibious plane, both of which help Allen in his search for sunken ships and treasure lost at sea.

Giovanni Pomati

Chief Executive of Nautor's Swan

In episode 12, chief executive of Nautor's Swan, Giovanni Pomati, says that comfort is the key to securing new sailing yacht owners. Before joining Nautor’s Swan in 2018, Pomati spent 20 years in the automotive sector, and believes the yachting industry can learn something from luxury car manufacturers. Today, he says, SUVs are a key business driver for Porsche accounting for over 50% of sales, which comes down to one thing: comfort. With this in mind, the Finnish yard's latest models, the Swan 98 and Swan Maxi 120, are "wider, with more volume, and heel less which is helping us to bring more people in.”

Abdullah Nahar

Director of YPI

Now could be the perfect time to buy a boat, with sellers keen to secure deals, according to YPI director Abdullah Nahar. Speaking in episode 13, he said: “A lot of owners believe that this is a buyer’s market and so they are keen to sell. The indication of this is the price point is on average anywhere between from 15% to 20% below the usual market price.” In the episode Nahar also touches on a wave of first-time buyers as a direct result of the pandemic and expects charters to resume at the tail end of the summer season.

Matt Voorhees

Superyacht owner

56 metre Feadship superyacht Broadwater is currently undergoing a major refit, and her owner Matt Voorhees shared exclusive details about the project and expected delivery date in epsiode 15 of At Home with Boat. During the interview he also offered some sage advice for owners undertaking their first superyacht refit, and explained why Feadship has been his choice brand for the three superyachts he has owned in the last 10 years.
