About Ocean Talks

5 April 2019

Ocean Talks provides a unique opportunity for those whose profession and/or passion relies upon the health of the ocean to meet, learn from each other and work more closely together.

As well as hosting inspirational and educational talks from experts at the forefront of ocean health and yacht innovation, Ocean Talks helps to match scientists in need of access to yachts, with owners happy to host them or their equipment.

“I come across people in the yacht industry all the time who want to do more to help but who don’t know how to help,” says Sacha Bonsor, Editorial Director of Boat International. “And as co-Chair of our Ocean Awards, I am also constantly coming across marine conservationists who need closer access to the sea, but don’t know how to find it. Ocean Talks aims to bridge this gap.”

The event aims to attract scientists and videographers who need access to a specific place in the world for a set number of days, and who are happy to present their reasons to a select yacht community (owners, decision makers, brokers, designers, builders) who want to do more to help. We hope that by encouraging and facilitating dialogue between these two vital communities, connection will lead to action, and action will lead to lasting change.
