Interiors inspiration: Inside the luxury London apartment designed by Roberto Cavalli

The property

When it comes to creating opulent, statement designs few do it better than renowned fashion designer and superyacht owner Roberto Cavalli. Famed for his sartorial take on classic Italian sex appeal, the designer has also turned his attention to interior design in recent years with the launch of the Roberto Cavalli Home range and interior design projects for, among others, Dubai’s I Love Florence tower and Akoya Oxygen Just Cavalli villas.

Most recently Cavalli has completed the interior design for a show apartment at a new luxury residential development in London known as Chelsea Creek. Perched on the waterfront near Chelsea Harbour, the St. George development offers a series on one, two and three bedroom apartments and townhouses with large open-plan living areas and contemporary architecture. Here the design team from Roberto Cavalli explain their interpretation of this chic new property…

The interior

Designed and furnished with sartorial care, the apartment is an eclectic and original refuge where elegance, art and furniture coexist. Meticulous design, precious materials and refined craftsmanship come together to allow pieces from the Roberto Cavalli Home collection to become the charming protagonists of the apartment. From the fabric selection - with damasks and animal prints - to the colour choice and overlapping textures, the philosophy and the DNA of the well-known Italian brand shine through to create glamour and sensuality.

Great care and attention was devoted to the choice of quality materials and fabrics, each of which was carefully matched to create ultra-refined environments in which the stylistic elements echo one another. The overall aim of the project is to show how we can enhance the joy of living for the customer and use every detail, tone and accessory to capture and translate their unique personality.

The living room

In a perfect dialogue of fashion and sophistication, the living room welcomes the visitor into an environment of colour, suggestion and fantasy, and deeply expresses the Roberto Cavalli DNA. Sophisticated accents, precious materials and exquisite tailoring contribute to create a luxurious and eclectic setting. The interior decoration is created in a palette of soft tonal colours and metallic hues combined with the warm feeling of leather and velvet, the natural beauty of precious marbles and the exotic charm of animal patterns.

With its original design and sinuous lines, the Sharpei sofa is the room’s standout piece. Characterised by the complex pleating of the seatback and enriched with decorative studs, it works alongside the geometric Manhattan armchair to provide an irresistible invitation to chill out. The same attention to detail and search for perfection is found in the coffee tables, Trinidad and Cooper. The first one, with its top in precious coloured agate and asymmetric base, adds a touch of natural allure to the living room, while the second, with onyx top and metal legs, recalls the irregular beauty of nature.

The selection of unusual lamps, elegant vases and accessories embellishes and completes the room, while the vibrant embroidered carpet creates a warm atmosphere with urban chic charm.

The bedroom

Graceful design and elegant furnishings carry the visitor into the bedroom, where a feeling of cosiness meets the signature opulence of Roberto Cavalli Home. In this hideaway, the neutral colour choice offers a warm and evocative atmosphere while at the same time illustrating a desire for comfort, elegance and beauty.

A serene, yet sharp and contemporary ambience in light colours and natural materials throughout the space is highlighted by the impressive Spring bed. The headboard features soft hexagonal upholstery in warm shades that perfectly match the palm wallpaper, a pattern which is a signature of the Cavalli house and an invitation to join an exotic journey to faraway destinations.
