In true diva style, pop icon Mariah Carey was one of the first stars to step out on a superyacht this summer when she treated her children to a Mediterranean cruise on Arctic P in July. The yacht belongs to Carey’s boyfriend James Packer and the singer was sure to make full use of her glamorous Adrian Sassoon-designed surroundings with a series of Instagram posts highlighting the enviable yachting lifestyle.

Australian pop star Kylie Minogue is a well-documented fan of a superyacht vacation and is most often found on board La Regina d’Italia – the 60 metre Codecasa owned by her fashion designer friends Dolce & Gabbana. Kylie posted this envy-inducing picture from the yacht’s sundeck while docked in Portofino, Italy in July.

Actress Nina Dobrev caused more than few jealous glances when she posted this image from the ultimate girls’ vacation aboard the 43.28 metre L’Albatros in July. Dobrev was holidaying with friends including Hillary Harley, Chandler Bailey and Tess Jantschek in St Tropez and the girls were sure to make the most of the extensive toy box – including a custom superyacht slide and some of the top jet skis on offer.

Stefano Gabbana, one half of design duo  Dolce & Gabbana, indulges in a little sunbathing and yacht spotting aboard his 60 metre  Codecasa Regina d'Italia. The ever patriotic Gabbana cruised the yacht around his native  Italy before arriving in Portofino for the fashion house's Ora ball in July.

Actress and wife of Alec Baldwin, Hilaria Baldwin, took time off from tending to her three-week-old second child to return to her fist love, yoga, in July. Enjoying a relaxing time on board a luxury yacht with her husband, Baldwin captioned this image: "This is called: Carmen's on a play date and I left the fridge stocked with milk for Rafa. Mommy and Daddy are heading out for 2.5 hours."

Jessica Simpson (L), pictured here with friend Odette Annable (R), celebrated her 35th birthday in luxurious surrounds in July with a yacht charter in  St Barths. Celebrating with 20 family and friends in the waters off Nikki Beach, Simpson and her guests took advantage of all the yacht's amenities - including some of the  best water toys and  top jet skis.

Former model Christie Brinkley shared this snap of her son Jack posing aboard a traditional sailing yacht in Capri in July. Brinkley's two daughters, Sailor and Alexa, were also on holiday with the family.

American socialite and style icon Olivia Palermo cemented her fashion credentials when she holidayed on board T.M.Blue One – the 46 metre Picchiotti belonging to the honorary president of Valentino Giancarlo Giametti - this summer. Palermo was joined by Giametti, Carlos Souza, Lukas Dvorak and her husband Johannes Huebl for a luxury yacht vacation in Ibiza in July.

Danish model and television presenter Caroline Fleming showed the world how much she was enjoying her  luxury yacht vacation in Ibiza with this fun snap in August. Fleming is a guest on board the 46.5 metre  CMB Yachts Orient Star and is holidaying with her three children and a host of other family and friends.

Singer and X Factor judge Rita Ora gets into the party mood aboard a luxury yacht in Ibiza in August. Ora was joined by a large group of friends in The White Isle where they chartered Gold Digger - a Baia Aqua 54 - and spent a day enjoying life at sea before returning to land to sample the local nightlife.
