BOAT International hosted the Owners’ Club garden party event during the prestigious Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show on 28 October 2023. The event was supported by annual sponsors Bermuda Tourism Authority and The Macallan, and event partners Voly and Pier Sixty-Six Residences.
The venue
The setting for this year's event was a breathtaking private residence nestled at the mouth of Fort Lauderdale’s extensive canal system. The venue provided the perfect backdrop for an afternoon of socialising and networking.
The guests
Among the attendees were esteemed members of the Owners’ Club, senior BOAT International staff and representatives from the event's sponsors. The event offered a unique opportunity for superyacht owners and industry professionals to come together in a relaxed atmosphere.
Bermuda Tourism Authority was on hand to welcome guests with a refreshing Rum Swizzle, a quintessential Bermudian cocktail. They also organised an exciting giveaway competition which saw Ali Şayakçı, president of Turkish shipyard Evadne Yachts and owner of Rock win a three-night stay and return flights to Bermuda.
Whisky enthusiasts were in for a treat, as The Macallan presented a selection of its finest single malt whiskies for tasting and a guided tasting session added an educational dimension to the afternoon.
Pier Sixty-Six Residences offered giveaway canvas bags and caps as a token of appreciation. They also arranged a tender service from Bahia Mar to the event.
The food and drink
Renowned winemaker Penfolds kept guests' glasses full with its exquisite champagne and wines. Throughout the lunch, attendees enjoyed in an array of culinary delights, including passed hors d'oeuvres, a ceviche station and an assortment of passed plates.
