beiderbeck designs range of mega catamaran concepts has just got bigger. Having just revealed the 80-metre Columbus2, the designers share some top features of the design – proving that she is the ideal combination of exploration and entertainment.

1. Plenty of party places and toys

The upper-deck helipad can host both helicopters, a hot air balloon and serve as a perfect disco dancefloor. Down below, the yacht’s large toy storages and large working deck accommodate the yacht's ribs and limousine tenders, snow and off-road mobiles and submarine, which can be launched via the unique crane system between the hulls.

2. Well-thought-out layout

Inside the bright, light-flooded interior, guests will find large, intelligently arranged window areas, including a large observation lounge with an opening roof and its own observatory on the top deck. The bridge between the hulls features a lounge with large forward-facing windows which will remain protected and comfortable even when in rough conditions. There is also space for up to 16 overnight guests on board.

3. Super hybrid and eco-friendly

Able be almost self-sufficient for long periods of time, Columbus2 is powered by a diesel-electric drive supplemented by fuel cells and solar panels and built with materials such as glass and carbon-reinforced aluminium. Plus, the hull lines are based on beiderbeck designs' signature style for displacement catamarans to guarantee the lowest possible power requirement.
