Generally speaking, the bigger the superyacht the slower the speed, but no such rule applies when it comes to the likes of a Mangusta - and the 50 metre Apricity is no exception either. Launched in 2014 as Moonraker, Apricity boasts more horsepower than 24 Ferrari 458 supercars combined making her one of the largest and fastest Mangusta motor yachts currently listed for sale.
While still offering surprisingly sizeable interiors decked out with luxurious amenities, three MTU 16V 4000 M93L engines and three Rolls Royce Kamewa waterjets help power Apricity to an impressive top speed of 46 knots, allowing guests to be whisked from Cannes to Capri in next to no time.
Built using an advanced composite to a design by Stefano Righini, Apricity marks an important evolution of the Mangusta 165 series. She is the eighth hull in the series but the first to sport larger windows and a restyled flybridge that contributes to her slender and sporty exterior. Despite her sharp speed on the water, Apricity is home to an impressive 488GT of living space.
Interiors designed by Maxine Tisenbaum & Trevor Kruse can sleep up to 10 guests in four en suite cabins with a crew of nine. A full-beam master suite amidships offers a peaceful retreat for primary guests, while a further three double cabins are found forward. The yacht’s private cinema room can also be converted into a fifth cabin if required. Naturally, her main saloon is the centre of all activity on board offering both relaxed lounging and formal dining with large windows and five skylights overhead.
Her foredeck, meanwhile, is home to an equally impressive exterior lounge made up of two sets of sunpads, a Jacuzzi and a central dining table for informal lunches served al fresco. There’s even room for a fully equipped gym below deck too.
