Video tour: Inside the engine room of Heesen's Project Triton

1 December 2020

Dutch builder Heesen Yachts has released a video tour inside the engine room of the 50 metre Steel Class superyacht Project Triton.

Hosted by Heesen’s commissioning engineer Rik Derksen, the video takes us into the “heart of the ship” and up close with Triton’s propulsion package.

Triton’s power comes from two MTU 8V 4000 M63 1000 kw engines with two turbochargers per engine. This provides a top speed of 15 knots and range of 3,800 nautical miles at 12 knots.

Elsewhere, Derksen introduces us to Triton’s plethora of technical equipment, including her two ZF 5311 gearboxes, exhaust system and air conditioning plant.

Designed by Clifford Denn, Triton first hit the water in February this year and features a bold profile inspired by classic car design. Heesen recently announced that Triton, which was listed with an asking price of €33,900,000, had sold.
