First revealed at the 2018 Monaco Yacht Show and currently under construction at Nautor’s Swan’s Pietarsaari facility, the 36.5m Swan 120 is a true bluewater cruiser that expertly balances performance with luxury. Designed by German Frers, with interiors by Misa Poggi, the Swan 120 is described as “defining the next generation of performance superyacht design”.
The star of the show however is the yacht’s transom, which is capable of transforming into a spacious teak-decked swimming platform, with a garage large enough to hold both a 4.5 metre tender and plenty of other water toys. When the tender is deployed, this area can be used for sunbathing or even light dining at the water’s edge. Speaking about this standout feature, Nautor’s Swan chief executive Giovanni Pomati explained, “the deck folds open to create a beach deck not only to launch a tender but for swimming, scuba diving, even to have breakfast in the morning.”
The Swan 120 is completely free of lines so those not engaged in the sailing can truly relax while underway. A bimini top and sprayhood pop up from the deck to shelter the deck lounge from sea and sun and then disappear into a flush roof cassette when not in use. Aft of the cockpit is a twin helm with a large sunpad that forms part of the beach deck set up.
Construction on the first hull is already well underway and will become the flagship of Swan's Maxi series when it splashes in 2021.
