Palumbo Superyachts Refit’s Marseille yard is set to ramp up investment after winning a 21-year renewal for state-owned land.
The concession, which will allow the yard to continue to manage state-owned property on which it operates, was awarded by Grand Port Maritime Marseille.
As a result, the yard has approved a range of significant investments to enhance its capabilities and face new challenges ahead. These include the approval for a new 48 x 18 metre floating dry dock capable of lifting boats weighing up to 500 tons.
The yard is already equipped with four dry docks, a 95 metre watershed and a pier measuring 300 metres for work that must be carried out while the yacht is afloat.
Speaking about the news, PSY Refit Marseille general manager Giulio Maresca said: “The improvement activities that we have been constantly carrying out since we settled on the French coast are giving us great satisfaction.
“The renewal of the concession allows us to plan a series of infrastructure investments that will bring an increase in the services offered in the short and long term.”
Palumbo Superyacht Refit Marseille is part of Palumbo Superyachts Refit, the largest refit and repair network in the Mediterranean. The network consists of five yards strategically located throughout the Mediterranean in Marseille, Savona, Ancona, Naples and Malta.
