Alloy sailing yacht Genevieve now for sale with Burgess and McMaster
by Malcolm Maclean
The 36.91 metre sailing yacht Genevieve has had a central agency change and is now jointly listed for sale by Burgess with McMaster Yachts.
Launched in 1996 by New Zealand yard Alloy Yachts, she was built from an aluminium hull and superstructure to AB standards. Her exterior design and naval architecture were developed by the late British designer Ed Dubois. Her current owner has taken great care of her over the past ten years and her most recent refit was completed in 2017, with a full repaint and new 3Di sails.
An expansive and traditionally styled interior by Glade Johnson totalling 178GT accommodates up to nine guests in a full-beam master suite, a VIP suite, twin cabin and double room with a fixed third bunk. Meanwhile, the crew quarters allow for a staff of up to six people.
The spacious and flexible deck layout of this yacht for sale gives her the feel of a much larger yacht, with two cocktail tables in the cockpit that can be combined to create a large dining area.
Al fresco relaxation options are plentiful with a pair of sunpads fitted on top of the coachroof, just under the boom, while two sun loungers on the foredeck provide another ideal spot for soaking up the rays. For those seeking a shaded area, the fixed fibreglass Bimini over the cockpit offers welcome relief from the heat of the midday sun.
Auxiliary power comes from a single 600hp Lugger engine that propels Genevieve to a cruising speed of 11 knots, topping out at 12 knots.
Currently lying in the Caribbean, Genevieve is asking €5,950,000.
