29 April 2021 • Written by Malcolm Maclean

The 33.17 metre Vosper Thorneycroft trimaran motor yacht Brigitte Bardot has been sold with the buyer and seller represented by Joaquin Genrich of Fraser

A unique offering on the brokerage market, Brigitte Bardot was purpose-built by UK-based Vosper Thornycroft to set the record for a complete global circumnavigation in less than 80 days, which she achieved in 1998, the year of her launch. She travelled more than 22,600 nautical miles in just 74 days, 20 hours and 58 minutes and was awarded a Guinness World Record for her achievement.

The trimaran was built in GRP to a design by Nigel Irens and can accommodate up to 12 guests across six commercial-style cabins. Formerly known as Ocean 7 Adventurer, she joined the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society fleet in 2010 and was renamed Brigitte Bardot in honour of the French actress who accompanied Captain Paul Watson on Sea Shepherd’s seal defence campaign in Canada in 1977.

Power comes from twin 500hp Cummins diesel engines, installed in 2018, delivering a top speed of 27 knots and a range of 3,500 nautical miles. Brigitte Bardot also sets the record for travelling further south than any other multi-hulled yacht and would be well suited to an adventurous new owner.
