12 of the best luxury yachts heading to Yachts Miami Beach

Revamped for 2017, Yachts Miami Beach will return to Collins Avenue from February 16-20. We’ve picked out the best yachts over 24 metres that you should make a beeline to see.

Hull number five of Princess Yachts’ flagship range, Anka is an impressive example with five large cabins and a Fendi Casa interior. At 395 gross tons, she seems larger than her 40.16 metre hull length would suggest. Island Turquoise paint on the hull and radar arch will certainly help her stand out amongst a mostly white fleet.

Yachts Miami Beach will give visitors a chance to get a closer look at the flagship from Swedish yard Delta Powerboats. The Delta Carbon 88 is, as its name would suggest, built from a carbonfibre hull and superstructure. A triple IPS 1200 poddrive engine set-up gives this fast planing yacht a sporty top speed of 37 knots.

The Ferretti 850, as well as her little sister Ferretti 450, herald a new look from designers Zuccon International Project. The beamy interior includes four large cabins plus two crew cabins accessed via an eat-in galley adjacent to the dining area on the main deck. Top speed is around 29 knots, and cruising is a fast 26 knots with the standard MAN engines.

Designed by Juan Carlos Espinosa and built in composite in Taiwan where she debuted, this sleek yacht offers surprising space. The two-level master suite is one of five en-suite cabins on board the Horizon RP120. The supersized flybridge has room for a convivial bar, dining, a Jacuzzi, a tender aft (or loungers at anchor) and a second helm station.

The second hull in Ocean Alexander’s 36.58 metre range, designed by Evan K. Marshall, shows some interesting changes over the first hull. The skylounge has grown with the captain’s cabin relocated below; and stowing the tender on the bridge deck gives the stern a spacious lazarette and creates a marvellous entertaining space on the flybridge with a sit-down bar and sunpad-encased Jacuzzi.

Hull number two in the Sanlorenzo 78 series that introduces a new collaboration with Officina Italiana Design features a Marty Lowe interior, an upgraded air conditioning system, twin MTU 10V 2000 M96L engines and more to make it better suited to this market. The planing yacht is considered the entry level model in a line-up that showcases Sanlorenzo's range and sophistication.

This 50 metre Christensen, built in high-tech composite, has a traditional and luxurious décor with high-gloss walnut and teak. The full-beam design produces amazing volume put to good use in Silver Lining’s spacious guest accommodations and comfortable crew quarters. The impeccably finished engine room contains two MTU diesels yielding a top speed of 16 knots and a range of around 4,000 miles.

This Hargrave 101 will exceed 25 knots powered by twin Caterpillar C32s to match her sporty appearance. The raised pilothouse design of Sunny creates space for a large and open salon/dining area and an eat-in galley on the main deck, while four guest cabins are situated on the lower deck.

With a top speed in the high 20s and a long-range cruise in excess of 1,000 nautical miles, this Sunseeker International flybridge yacht, which debuted in 2014 as a new model, has a superyacht feel, with large windows, balconies off the open-plan salon, tender storage and crew cabins.

The 2009 redesign of the Westport 130 gave new legs to an already successful tri-deck yacht introduced in 2001. Hull number 14 since the redesign, W boasts five staterooms including a great master suite on the main deck, forward of the ever-popular eat-in galley. Range is around 3,000 nautical miles at 12 knots, and top speed is a cool 24 knots.
