The first annual Cannes Collection took place last week (June 2-5) and it was such a big success that the organisers have signed a long-term deal with Cannes Old Port, which ensures the show will run for at least five more years. To celebrate, here are our top five pictures from this brand new yachting and luxury lifestyle event.

More than 60 exhibitors attended the inaugural event, including some of the biggest names in the yachting world — from the 47 metre Heesen superyacht Sirocco _to the 45 metre Palmer Johnson _Blue Ice and 50 metre Amels yacht Malibu (but more on her later).

Key to the show’s success has been the choice of venue, with Cannes’ Old Port synonymous with yacht shows. Exhibitors praised the location and the timing of the event, coming less than a week after the Monaco Grand Prix.

Corrado Baldazzi of Pershing Yachts said: “Spring is the best moment to sell boats and this location is the best place to share the best products in the world.” Meanwhile a representative for Sanlorenzo added that they had "significant interest during the show with some really qualified people".

This stylish Van Dutch 40 tender was kitted out in the show’s livery and used to carry VIP guests across the harbour.
