142m Lürssen Project Redwood launched
The 142 metre LürssenProject Redwood has been launched. According to details published on the website of brokerage firm Moran Yacht & Ship, which sold the yacht and is overseeing the build, the vessel hit the water earlier this week after being moved onto a floating dock for superstructure assembly in December 2018.
The six-decked superyacht, which has been designed by Italian design studio Nuvolari Lenard, is due for completion in 2020.
First announced in December 2015 by Moran Yacht & Ship as a 139 metre project, Project Redwood boasts a number of high-end features, such as a sports and diving centre on the lower deck, a large swimming pool, two superyacht helipads and a fleet of tenders measuring up to 15 metres.
Nuvolari Lenard is also responsible for the interior design, which will feature accommodation for 36 guests in 20 staterooms. In order to have this number of guests the yacht is being built to comply with the Passenger Yacht Code. In a statement, the studio added, "Project Redwood will have efficient, long-range cruising capabilities for independent global exploration."
The Moran Yacht & Ship New Construction Team is overseeing the build at the German yard and aim for delivery in 2020, when she will take her place among the largest superyachts in the world, most likely ranking in the top 15.
