The design contract for the 1,100 berth in-build Dubai harbour has been awarded to Camper & Nicholsons Marinas.
The company has been working on the design since last year on behalf of Meraas Development LLC and has already completed a detailed design review and study for the marina.
This included a market assessment, market positioning strategy, concept design and feasibility report for all four marinas in the Dubai Harbour, including some of the largest superyacht berths in the world.
The harbour is currently due to be complete in time for the Dubai 2020 World Expo, at which time it will become the largest marina in the Middle East.
When complete, the marina will span a 1,000 berth complex split over four marinas, with a cruise ship terminal, residential towers and entertainment area.
Speaking about the news, Camper & Nicholsons Marinas chief operating officer Dan Hughes said: “Marine tourism is a central pillar of Dubai’s economic growth and diversification and it is fantastic to see that the work completed by Camper & Nicholsons Marinas being brought to life and incorporated in one of the most forward-thinking new marina builds in the world."
