Fully custom 78 metre Amels superyacht sold
by Chris Jefferies
The new project is due to launch in 2021 with exterior styling by Espen Øino and interiors by François Zuretti. Rose Damen, commercial director at Amels, said: “This is a particularly significant contract for Amels and a great compliment for our full custom team.”
As the rendering above reveals, exterior relaxation options will be in plentiful supply, with a rectangular spa pool and large sunbathing area on the foredeck. Meanwhile, the upper deck aft will also feature a superyacht spa pool and the sundeck will be split into interior and exterior areas.
Øino has been heavily involved in this, his team’s first Amels project, developing both the exterior design and the general arrangement. “We are very impressed by the know-how and professionalism that the Amels custom yachts team have displayed during the design development and negotiations and look forward to working together towards making this vessel a unique custom yacht we all can be proud of," he added.
Speaking briefly about his plans for the interior, Zuretti described the décor as “contemporary, comfortable, functional… with distinct ethnic notes.”
Further details are at a premium at this stage, but the yard adds that the 78 metre Amels superyacht will boast a 2,850GT interior, superseding the 83 metre Here Comes The Sun, which was delivered earlier this year, as the yard’s largest yacht by volume.
Other superyacht projects currently under development at the Dutch yard include the first of the new 57.7 metre Amels 188 Limited Editions yachts, which is due for delivery next year.
