Heesen's 50-metre ALP has been launched and is now undergoing sea trials in the North Sea.
Previously known as Project Jade, ALP builds on "Heesen’s legacy of fast, hard-chine aluminium yachts" and represents a good example of the yard's ability to deliver fast, sub-500GT yachts that comply with the new emission regulations.
The "curvy and sporty" exterior design, which features "crisp design features" comes courtesy of Omega Architects.
Accommodation is for twelve guests across five cabins, including an owners' suite on the main deck forward. There are further quarters for nine crew. The “modern but cosy interior design” penned by Cristiano Gatto offers plenty of customisation opportunities for the owner.
While she has two sisterships, Aquamarine and Book Ends, Heesen has said that no two yachts in the series will be the same and credits its in-house team of interior designers with creating "the most intricate designs".
Renderings reveal a number of al fresco amenities, including a well-appointed sundeck with Jacuzzi, lounge area, dining space and bar. The yacht also has a generous beach club with unfolding swim platform and loose furniture for making the most of life at sea.
SuperYachtsMonaco announced the sale of ALP in February 2024, with Jim Evans introducing the client.
At the time, Heesen's chief commercial officer, Mark Cavendish said: "We are overjoyed to congratulate the client on entrusting our shipyard with building his new yacht. This sale not only showcases the exceptional quality of Heesen yachts but also confirms our strong relationship with the brokerage network."
Jim Evans, managing director of SuperYachtsMonaco also added: "We are absolutely delighted to have managed the sale of another yacht with Heesen. The new owner is very excited that he will take delivery of such a fantastic yacht in time for the summer season. We have always had a very positive experience working with the team from Heesen and this one has been no different."
Power will come from twin MTU 16V 4000 M65L IMO Tier III-approved engines for a top speed of 23 knots and a range of 3,100 nautical miles at 11 knots.
An optimised hull, minimised transom depth and creation of propeller tunnels reduces the draft to 2.15 metres, which according to Heesen results in an efficiency gain of 12 per cent compared to previous 50-metre models.
According to BOATPro, Heesen has 14 yachts currently under construction – including the 55-metre Project Venus. BOAT International recently visited Oss to discuss the build with the team at Luca Dini Design & Architecture.
