In Pictures: On Board the 95 Metre Lürssen Superyacht Madsummer

Built in a rapid two and a half years, Madsummer is a boat that is efficient, subtly masculine on the outside and a riot of colour inside.

“There is a glass bulwark on main deck, surrounding the whole open deck area; that is something we haven’t done before,” says Thorsten Göckes, Lürssen’s project manager on Madsummer. “They protect you from wind and also hide you from photographers with a mirrored glass effect.”

“Blue is the colour of the owner,” interior designer Laura Sessa says. There are strong blues in the observation lounge, the upper saloon and at the pool.

The main deck saloon is split into outside and inside spaces. Here, inside, the luxurious Tai Ping silk carpet and colourful cushions announce the interior style with confidence.

Italian Laura Sessa designed the boat’s interior, which incorporates a feast of primary hues. Moran calls it “a modern beach house vibe with ample entertainment areas”.

Each cabin has its own colour scheme - scarlet, orange, aquamarine and so on.

The ensuites continue this theme. In the bathrooms, Laura Sessa framed the mirrors with real mother of pearl, stained and lacquered.

The finish is pristine, with a range of textures that beg to be touched.
