Turkish yard AvA Yachts has revealed that the keel has been laid on the second hull of its Kando 110 series, which was sold to NBA sporting celebrity Tony Parker last November.
The keel was laid early last month while the construction of the steel hull is also well advanced. The yacht will have an aluminium superstructure with a bulbous bow.
Chairman and founder of AvA Yachts Atilla Kucukdiker said: “We are all working hard and looking forward to producing a premium-quality product that will be proudly displayed at the 2020 Cannes Yachting Festival. Construction is well underway and Kando #2 will be testimony to the skilled workforce that AvA Yachts and Antalya has to offer.”
The yacht’s 340GT interior will accommodate 12 guests in six cabins. The crew quarters meanwhile will accommodate a staff of six in three cabins, including a separate captain’s double cabin.
The four decked yacht will feature a “light, contemporary interior décor” chosen by the basketball star and his wife.
The 35 metre yacht will be powered by twin Volvo-Penta 650hp engines for a range of 6,400 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 10 knots.
AvA Yachts previously revealed that Parker put the yard through a “rigorous selection procedure” which saw his advisory team visit the Turkish yard three times.
Kucukdiker previously said: “To have a world-famous celebrity like Mr Parker demonstrate his confidence at such an early stage of the development of the Kando series has made us immensely proud and we will deliver a yacht that will surpass all his expectations.”
