Penned by Dykstra Naval Architects and Mark Whiteley, Sea Eagle II is now progressing “on schedule”. The carbon composite Rondal Panamax rig is set to be installed ahead of sea trials and crew training.

The yacht was sold in summer 2016 by Northrop & Johnson as Project RH400.

The project was first announced at the 2017 Monaco Yacht Show, with the yard revealing it would be the largest Asian-owned yacht.

The initial brief for Sea Eagle II called for a “world cruising, fast, comfortably and iconic looking” yacht.

Sea Eagle II is now the seventh biggest sailing yacht in the world, as well as the world’s largest aluminium sailing yacht and the biggest yacht ever built by Royal Huisman.

Accommodation on board is for a total of 11 guests and 14 crew.

The three-masted schooner features a plumb bow and carbon rigging by Rondal.
