First Mangusta Oceano 39 hits the water

Overmarine has announced the launch of the first unit in its Mangusta Oceano 39 series, which hit the water at the Italian shipyard last week.

The Mangusta Oceano 39 was first presented in 2021 as the entry-level model to the displacement Oceano series, which includes the newly-launched Oceano 44, Oceano 46 and Oceano 50. Designed as an “ocean-going glass villa”, the 39-metre model features floor-to-ceiling windows in both the main and upper saloons and sliding doors that create a single indoor-outdoor space across both levels.

Construction on the second hull is already underway

The design was developed by the shipyard in collaboration with Alberto Mancini and Studio Verme and features "much larger volumes than those normally found in her class", the shipyard said. The model was developed after a number of clients had asked for a three-deck platform smaller than Mangusta’s core entry-level Mangusta 43 model.

One of the main highlights is a signature infinity pool on the bow with a partial glass bottom that allows light to filter through to the master cabin below, which benefits from its own fold-out balcony. The remaining guest accommodation comprises four cabins on the lower deck.

“We are so proud to see the first unit of this innovative new model in the water," said Overmarine Group's CEO Maurizio Balducci. "The Mangusta Oceano 39 is a new three-decker characterised by huge glazed surfaces, where supporting structures and bulwarks have, conversely, been minimised, so as to offer the closest possible contact with the sea."

The first Mangusta Oceano 39 is powered by twin MTU 12V 2000 M86 1,700hp engines that deliver a cruising speed of 12 knots, a top speed of 16 knots, and a range of up to 2,600 nautical miles. A more powerful power package is available to owners looking for a few extra knots with twin 2,600hp engines delivering a top speed of 20 knots.

Construction is already underway on the second hull and the next available unit, hull number three, is available for sale with delivery expected in November 2024.
