Italian shipyard Sanlorenzo has launched the first unit in its 40.7-metre series, the SD132, and christened her Andiamo. This marks the largest composite, semi-displacement yacht built by the shipyard, though the SD132 is said to "continue the legacy" of its smaller siblings.
The model is characterised by an impressive volume of 420GT, which "makes [the SD132] unique among models of this size", according to the yard. One of the design's strengths is the configuration of the beach club area, which is connected seamlessly to the aft cockpit. Lateral terraces, once opened, offer guests a large walkable surface of 70 square metres and free the cockpit from any visual obstacles for far-reaching ocean views.
Exterior and interior design is owed to long-standing collaborator Zuccon International Project.
Accommodation comprises four guest cabins on the lower deck and a spacious owner's suite – measuring 55 square metres – in the forward section of the main deck. Interiors feature an earthy colour palette and soft tones and textures that "emphasise sensory engagement". This includes a stone-like cement finish in the bathroom and owner's suite.
Another model highlight is the fly deck, which measures 85 square metres. A mini pool with a sunbathing system is found in the forward living area, connecting this section to the main deck, while a side garage with transverse launching capability can accommodate a tender of up to 6.2 metres. An additional hangar can house toys or a rescue boat.
"The exceptional market response has been confirmed by the five contracts already signed before the launch, demonstrating the great success and appreciation this yacht is receiving among owners," said Tommaso Vincenzi, president of Sanlorenzo's Yacht Business Unit.
The model offers a maximum speed of 17 knots and a range of 3,200 nautical miles, powered by twin CAT or MAN engines.
According to BOATPro, Sanlorenzo has an impressive 50 units either on order or actively under construction at its facilities in La Spezia, Italy.
