superyacht clarity: 11 clever ways Bilgin redesigned its 160 Classic

Clarity is designed with market value in mind

In May 2015, Turkish builder Bilgin launched the second in its retro series, the 48 metre Bilgin 160 Classic. On the outside hull No 2, named Clarity, might look similar to her vintage-inspired sistership M&M, launched in 2012 (and recently renamed Timeless), but a big difference is Clarity has been strategically redesigned with market value in mind.

Last July, while the yacht was in build, Bilgin decided to make a number of changes aimed at upping the yachts market value, which seems to have paid off as she was sold in April this year with 85 per cent of the work complete.

Clarity has been redesigned with a bigger master cabin

The owner's cabin on Bilgin's redesigned 160 Classic yacht Clarity has been extended. The en suite bathroom is suitably spacious, and there's a sizeable walk-in-wardrobe as well.

Windows surround the cabin and LED lighting illuminates every shelf, so the grand sized master suite is beautifully bright day or night.

Less guest cabins on Clarity but more living space

Superyacht Clarity has five guest cabins compared to the six found on Timeless. But with "less is more" in mind, this redesign is aimed to create more space for her guests. The twin bedded guest cabin found aft is now a more welcoming king-size bed cabin, for instance, while a large VIP takes up the forward section of the lower deck, where the crew quarters resided previously.

Main deck saloon on Clarity updated to meet owner's brief

The main deck saloon on Bilgin 160 Classic superyacht Clarity has been designed to meet her owner's brief. The loose furnishings were selected by her owner, and the galley can now be accessed from the saloon, whereas previously it was accessed from the hallway next to the day head.

Big bar on upper deck of Clarity

A beautiful classic yacht primed for entertaining, the Bilgin 160 Classic now has a big, new bar on the upper deck. On either side of the upper saloon entrance on Clarity is a day head and plentiful storage, making service during a soiree a breeze.

Clarity has new teak decks

The Bilgin 160 Classic has plentiful deck space for al fresco living, and now these decks are updated on Clarity. She has a beautiful teak-floored sun deck surrounded by LED lighting.

Clarity lights up the night with LED underwater lights

Also new on the redesigned Bilgin 160 Classic Clarity is her LED underwater lights. The lines of the vintage beauty stand out at night with her stunning lighting plan that also includes LED lights around her Portuguese bridge.

Portuguese bridge seating area is double the size on Clarity

The Portuguese bridge in front of the helm station on the redesigned Bilgin superyacht Clarity is double the size of that found on her predecessor Timeless. More room for lounging and enjoying the views ahead.

The passarelle is cleverly hidden on Clarity

The passerelle on Clarity is hidden, leaving her aft looking clean and clutter free. A door opens to the inside of the yacht, whereas on Timeless the passerelle was mounted to the aft section outside of the boat.

Clarity's redesign tweaks can now be had on other Bilgin 160 Classic yachts

Bilgin found its redesign updates were successful on Clarity, so the yard is now making these changes available on hull No 1 of its 160 Classic series, Timeless, which is available for charter and is also for sale. According to the builder, Timeless could be redesigned with the same updates for a cost of approximately €2 million and an update build time of just over 10 months. (Note: That's on top of the €10.5 million asking price.)
