6 standout features of the newly refitted CRN Eight

Eight's striking new profile

The 46 metre superyacht Eight was first launched by CRN in 2005, but was re-launched in May 2015 following an extensive refit. She is the first yacht to have been refitted at CRN as part of a new sector for the Italian yacht builder, which has spotted refitting as a new growth opportunity.

The work involved new styling, maintenance of technical systems and appliances, and most of all a complete redesign of the interior. CRN has now provided a detailed look at the newly transformed Eight.

1. Eight's striking new profile

The new owner decided to replace the golden stripes with an entirely dark blue hull and a white superstructure, giving Eight an eye catching new appearance. Nuvolari Lenard was in charge of the exterior styling.

Eight's welcoming main deck

The seating area on the main deck aft acts as the welcome point, with a sliding glass door providing access to the cosy main saloon. The comfortable indoor living area is separated from the dining area by a double-faced Samsung 78 inch screen, which can slide out of view when not in use. The new interior has been designed by Solido Interiors.

“All the windows have been enlarged, letting plenty of natural light flood this area and highlight the combination of the warm shades of walnut on the walls and the cream shade of the furniture,” says CRN in a statement. “The beauty of this room is further enhanced by the accurately-designed lighting system.”

A sense of warmth in Eight's master cabin

The owner’s suite, located forward on the main deck, now includes a private office that leads into the main cabin.

“After stepping into the cabin, one is immediately pervaded by a sense of warmth, which is further enhanced by the use of embracing, soft colour shades, that range from hazelnut brown to cream and alternate in the fabrics, the furniture, and throughout the vessel,” says CRN.

The high tech master bathroom features changing coloured lights as well as electrical darkening glass to offer privacy, while the designer has used warm oak wood to contrast with the mottled stone of the bathtub.

Eight's upper deck

On the upper deck the large indoor saloon includes a wonderful C-shaped sofa, which faces a 75 inch Samsung TV that slides out of view at the push of a button. The windows have also been enlarged to let in more natural light, while a bar area leads past the captain’s cabin to the wheelhouse, which features a host of upgraded or replaced electronics. Outside on the upper deck aft there is a large dining table for 10, as well as L-shaped sofas for relaxing.

The versatile sun deck on Eight

The sun deck is reached via an external staircase, and has been upgraded with a flat screen TV, an ice-maker, a refrigerator and a barbecue to provide everything the guests might need.

A round polished teak table provides an alternative option for al fresco dining, and divides the large sunbathing area aft from the newly refitted forward part of the sun deck, which features a Teuco hydro massage hot tub.

The yard has even replaced the old forward mast structure with a removable carbon mast, which has also been shifted slightly closer to the stern to offer a sleeker look.

Eight's convertible tender garage

The main changes at the stern have involved the garage, which has been widened to fit the owner’s choice of tender, a Castoldi 23’. The upgraded tender garage can be transformed into a large beach club when the tender has been launched.

This new space is complimented by a new shower area, as well as upgraded flooring, which fits in with the warm shades of the outdoor teak.
