Princess to premier 30m superyacht at Southampton Boat Show

27 July 2011

Princess Yachts plans to unveil its new 98 Motor Yacht, showcasing the company’s interior design credentials, at the Southampton Boat Show in September.

The sleek 30 metre long-range cruising yacht is intended specifically for elegant entertaining, and the interior was designed in collaboration with Fendi Casa, which along with Princess is part of the Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy (LVMH) group.

‘From furniture to floor coverings, fabrics to soft furnishings the entire interior across both decks present a perfect showcase of this unique partnership Princess has with some of the world's most prestigious brands,’ says Simon Clare, head of marketing at Princess Yachts.

‘This is a design service available to all our Motor Yacht and M Class owners and in fact the company is now working on two more Fendi interiors for owners of a 32M and an 85 Motor Yacht.’

The layout also helps make the yacht, which has a 7 metre beam, convenient for entertaining. The main deck incorporates a walk-through bow and seating area – an alternative socialising area when moored stern-to. For water sports there is an electro-hydraulic bathing platform for the launch and recovery of a tender or jet ski, or simply for use as a submerged swimming or diving platform.

The large transom garage can accommodate a jet ski, which can be lifted using the flybridge crane. The flybridge can be specified with an optional hardtop with integrated sunroof, which also allows the crane to be stowed fore or aft, freeing up the aft deck as additional entertaining space.

Accommodation can be configured for eight or 10 guests, with up to six crew in separate quarters with a wide choice of configurations.

Draught is 1.83 metres Princess offers a choice of four engine packages. These range from twin 1,925mhp Caterpillar C32 Acerts with top speeds of 20-22 knots, to twin 2,637mhp MTU 16V 2000 M94s with top speeds of 27-29 knots.

The Southampton Boat Show runs 16-25 September and the 98 Motor Yacht will be at the Princess stand E56 / berths M491–M502.
