In the wake of a triumphant 2023, esteemed shipyard Ocean Alexander celebrates a highly successful year with a total of 13 units sold. What's more, the fourth quarter alone witnessed the sale of six units, which boasted a combined retail value surpassing $110 million. The shipyard proudly reports that the sales included a unit from each of Ocean Alexander’s highly sought-after models.

Since its inception in 1978, Ocean Alexander has undergone a remarkable journey, transforming its early roots in Taiwan into a powerhouse of yacht manufacturing and global service. The shipyard has forged robust alliances with some of the world's finest naval architects and designers. A testament to its commitment to high engineering principles, the initial boats crafted by Ocean Alexander in 1978 now command triple their original price.

Over the years, Ocean Alexander has evolved significantly, from the creation of the sought-after classic 16-metre Mark I, to the present-day construction of top-of-the-range luxury superyachts. The shipyard’s four series – Revolution, Explorer, Legend and the soon-to-be-launched Puro – showcase the brand’s diverse portfolio.

As we celebrate Ocean Alexander’s 45th anniversary, BOAT pays homage to the brand’s remarkable journey by rounding up all the models the shipyard successfully sold in its momentous 45th year.

Revolution

Ocean Alexander and Evan K. Marshall collaborated seamlessly to bring forth the extraordinary Revolution series, marrying cutting-edge engineering with quality design. The 26.8-metre 27R, the 29.6-metre 30R and the 35.2-metre 35R are perfect examples of how the yard has used its heritage to pursue a more futuristic design.

A standout feature of the Revolution series is the combination of a vertical bow and the forward full-beam main deck, resulting in a design that not only enhances living space but also preserves performance and efficiency. The saloon, adorned with expansive windows, offers panoramic views of the surrounding seascape, creating an immersive experience for guests. Concealed behind exotic wood panels, the vessel's ample storage space exemplifies the series' commitment to both functionality and design.

The glass-enclosed beach club is perfect for those seeking a serene retreat, offering an ideal setting for a leisurely afternoon lounge or a delightful late-night cocktail. The flexibility of the Revolution series extends to its customisation options, allowing owners to tailor layouts and colour palettes to suit their individual preferences.

The master stateroom also features panoramic views, while the stone-clad master head adds a stylistic touch to the interior. The Revolution series goes above and beyond in providing ample entertainment spaces with comfortable seating areas, a well-equipped wet bar and a custom-made grill for an al fresco experience.

Explorer

Ocean Alexander takes pride in its Explorer series, showcasing the 28.8-metre 28E and a 31.2-metre 32E. Renowned for its stylish exterior design conceptualised by Evan K. Marshall, the Explorer series blends performance and comfort.

Internally, the Explorer series embraces open-plan living, offering versatile spaces for a myriad of activities, from tranquil relaxation and afternoon tea to cinematic screenings, five-star dining and sundown cocktails. The interior living areas feature a spacious dining room accommodating up to 10 guests, a cosy lounge area and a high-spec galley designed for culinary excellence.

Extending the multifunctional ethos to the exterior decks, the aft deck proves particularly adaptable, providing ample space for storing water toys without compromising on utility. On the bridge deck, a wet bar island serves as the perfect culmination to the day, offering the ideal space to relax under the night sky from one of the exterior lounge spaces. With these attributes, the Explorer series stands out as an ideal yacht for long-range cruising.

Legend

The Legend series embodies Ocean Alexander's ethos - safety, quality, performance and design - with the 32.4-metre 32L and the 35.5-metre 37L.

32L

Within the Legend range, Ocean Alexander's skilled team has masterfully redefined the use of space, implemented innovative crew access solutions and, above all, prioritised the owner's enjoyment of every moment on board. The 32L and 37L models offer a choice between a single-deck master suite versus a split-deck master suite, providing owners with customisable options.

As a five-stateroom luxury entertaining yacht, the Legend series features expansive windows that offer panoramic views of the surroundings. Leveraging inventive aluminium-beam engineering, these yachts boast impressive window views in this size category. The strategic scaling of living spaces, reminiscent of larger superyachts, is evident in the increased galley and crew areas, making the 32L and 37L ideal for private ownership or charter endeavours.
