Fincantieri launches 134m superyacht Serene

18 September 2010 • Written by Raphael Montigneaux

History was made yesterday when Fincantieri Yachts launched the 134-metre Serene, the largest yacht ever to have been built by an Italian yard.

Only one other Italian-built yacht has broken through the 100m barrier - Picchiotti's 104m Al Said (now renamed Loaloat al Behar) which was launched in 1982.

A few facts about her: She has 7 decks, a 4,500m2 interior, 2 helipads, a sea-water swimming-pool and a submarine. Her sleek profile was designed by Espen Oeino, and her vast interior spaces by Reymond Langton Design.

Serene is scheduled to be delivered before the end of the year, when she will move into 8th place in our list of the Top 200 largest yachts.
