The 48 metre Oceanfast motor yacht Big Sky, listed for sale by Wes Sanford and Ann Avery at Northrop & Johnson, has been sold in an in-house deal.
A spec build by the Australian superyacht yard Oceanfast, she was launched in 2010 in what the yard hoped would be a new range of mid-sized superyachts. Unfortunately, launching into the teeth of the Global Economic Crisis put paid to that dream, but she nevertheless remains a rather special superyacht.
Big Sky provides spacious accommodation for 10 guests in five well-appointed guest suites including a master suite on the main deck, plus three double VIP cabins and one twin guest cabin on the lower deck, featuring contemporary styling throughout. All cabins have en suite bathrooms.
A 2018 refit focused on her interior spaces. Her owner commissioned a team of designers to collaborate in crafting new built-in furnishings and loose furniture for the main deck and skylounge spaces. The full beam main saloon makes maximum use of its vast space with oversized windows allowing ample natural light to flood into this area devoted to relaxing, dining and entertaining.
There is ample room for an intimate dinner or large party on the teak soled aft deck while complementing the sun deck entertainment area is a Jacuzzi spa, sun pads and a bar under a custom hard top, offering total privacy. Twin 1,330hp MTU engines give her a range of 4,000 nautical miles at 12 knots and she is fitted with Quantum zero speed stabilisers.
Big Sky was asking $9,900,000.
