The first Azimut Grande 35 has been sold to a Middle Eastern owner, who is due to take delivery in early 2017, the Italian yard has revealed.
The new 35 metre was announced earlier this week (September 7) at Azimut-Benetti Group’s Cannes Yachting Festival press conference and when delivered. Currently in build, it will become the flagship in the Azimut Yachts range upon delivery.
The Italian yard added that the Azimut Grande 35 will feature two beach clubs, one in the stern and one in the bow, with a side-loading superyacht garage providing storage for a tender and Jet Ski. The upper deck will be available in two guises, either an open flybridge or an enclosed skylounge.
The exact layout and engine specification of this tri-deck yacht are yet to be confirmed, however the main-deck master suite will be fitted out with what Azimut-Benetti claims is the largest fold-out superyacht terrace on the market.
In keeping with recent Azimut launches, the Grande 35 will feature a carbon-fibre superstructure for a lower centre of gravity, while the fast planing hull will feature a wave-piercing bow, as seen on the Benetti Vivace 125 superyacht series. Extensive noise and vibration reduction measures have also been taken to ensure a quiet and comfortable ride.
Paolo Vitelli, president of Azimut-Benetti Group, said: “We have never stopped investing all our resources in the product, and the market recognises this in the form of sales. I feel proud of the more than two thousand people who work in the group.”
Other projects currently under construction at the Italian yard include the Azimut Grande 27 and the Benetti Delfino 95, both of which are due to launch next year.
