As the build of the first Dominator Ilumen progresses, the yard has announced it now measures 28 metres and has revealed some updates in the design of the series.
First conceived as the Dominator Ilumen 26m concept, the Ilumen series has developed into a three-model series, available in 18, 32 and 36 metres.
Naval architecture for the Dominator Ilumen 28m was completed in-house – by the in-house technical office and engineers from Navalhead – with a focus on enhancing performance and comfort at sea in an aesthetically pleasing package. The yacht was first modelled in 3D, allowing all elements of the design to work in harmony, explained head of engineering Andrea Agrusta.
Built in Epoxy Carbon, the semi-displacement luxury yacht is powered by 2 MAN V8-1200 diesel engines. It is expected to have a cruising speed of 14.5 knots and a range of 1,700nm at 10 knots.
The Dominator Ilumen 28m can accommodate 10 guests in five guest suites, with space for three crew. Its exterior and interior design, by Alberto Mancini from AM Design, is sleek and modern, with elements such as backlit white onyx, ebony and zebrano wood, matte oak and soft nubuck leather showcased inside.
“In the past few years the yacht market has changed,” said Mag. Angela Pernsteiner, part of the family owner of Dominator. “Today’s owners are demanding more – greater, more comfortable and luxurious living spaces; sophisticated ambient lighting; top-level amenities and enhanced on-board stability; safety and nautical range, but also lower fuel consumption, emissions and reduced maintenance.
We have merged these demanding standards with our design and development philosophy to make the Ilumen yacht series truly exceptional.”
The launch Dominator Ilumen 28m is anticipated for later this year.
