TISG lifts the wraps on restyled 47m Perini Navi sailing yacht

The Italian Sea Group (TISG) has presented the first images of its newly redesigned 47 metre aluminium-hulled Perini Navi sloop.

Due for delivery in 2024, the new yacht features a fresh look and a host of innovative new features including a carbon fibre mast, a new sail handling system and a re-engineered keel.

The yacht’s restyling centres around improving performance and efficiency. In order to maintain a steady heel angle, the sloop has a smart hull design with an extended waterline of 43 metres and a straight, deep V-shaped bow.

Hull efficiency and seaworthiness have further been enhanced thanks to a newly engineered variable keel draft. The fixed part of the keel – the keel box – has been reduced, freeing up the centreboard dimension that allows for a maximum draft of 11 meters when the keel is down. The minimum draft shrinks to just 3.9 metres when the keel is up, meaning the yacht can still easily access shallow bays and coastal cruising grounds.

The yacht has a beam of 10.5 metres

The sloop has a beam of 10.5 metres and a gross tonnage of 390 GT, which puts her at the top of her class for volume when compared to sailing yachts of a similar length. Her impressive volume offers accommodation for up to ten guests in four en-suite cabins and a generous owner’s studio, which is convertible to allow for maximum flexibility.

The mast measures 62.6 metres.

In terms of performance, the sloop will be fitted with twin rudders that can be synchronised through a "fly-by-wire" system, thus allowing for greater manoeuvrability during sailing and when accessing ports. Guests will have no trouble getting to and from the yacht, thanks to a 6.5 metre tender which is stored discreetly in the bow of the yacht, with a dedicated crane for smooth operations.

A carbon fibre mast, measuring over 62 metres, will have an upwind sail set (comprising the main sail and jib) of 1,275 square meters. Meanwhile, the sloop's new sail handling system includes a self-tracking headsail with transversal track and removable staysail. No. 2 reel captive winches below deck control the halyard and the sheet of the main sail.

The yacht offers plenty of al fresco space for guests

When not under sail, the yacht will rely on a CAT engine with 533 kW/h at 2100 rpm and two main generators of 86 kW/h each. According to TISG, the peak speed is around 13 knots. A range of 3,500 nautical miles is estimated when the yacht is travelling at 10 knots.

A modern interior creates a refined ambience for guests.

Alongside high-performance credentials, the Perini Navi aims to offer a comfortable and elegant onboard ambience for her guests. Al fresco living is catered to on a wide swim platform and generous flybridge, with an uncluttered sweep of foredeck and wide passageways for easy access to all other areas of the sailing yacht.

Renderings suggest a serene and contemporary interior with a distinctly nautical theme, incorporating plenty of natural elements and a refined colour palette. All of the design comes from Perini Navi’s in-house team.

The restyling comes after TISG’s CEO, Giovanni Costantino, hinted at an upcoming unveiling of a falcon-rigged Perini Navi sailing yacht that aims to be “as innovative today as the Maltese Falcon was innovative 10 years ago.”
