The Italian superyacht builder Baglietto has announced the sale of a new build 48 metre yacht for a Mexican owner. This will be the first Baglietto 48 metre displacement motor yacht from the yard.
The new Baglietto 48 metre yacht is an evolution of the Baglietto 46 metre displacement hull superyacht, of which hull No 1 was launched last year in La Spezia, Italy. Now named Mr. T, the Baglietto 46 was the first in a new breed of displacement motor yacht for the yard.
Like the 46, exterior and interior design for the new Baglietto 48 will come from Italian designer and long-time Baglietto collaborator Francesco Paszkowski. The yacht will carry forward traditional Baglietto styling cues with modern updates.
Notably, this is Baglietto’s first foray into the Latin American market since the Gavio Group took over the company, and it’s a sector which the builder says continues to show “great interest” in its offerings.
Both the 46 and 48 metre yachts are part of the historical builder’s new displacement yacht line, which spans from 43 to 54 metres. In addition to the 46 metre yachts – Mr. T and hull No 2 Only One – and the new 48 metre, the displacement range will soon grow with a 54 metre, due to be launched by the end of 2015, and a 43 and 55 metre already in build. There are also projects in the works for a 58 and 62 metre.
Earlier this year, Baglietto launched its MV13 yacht Lap 1 – with one of the coolest superyacht paint jobs – for Fiat heir Lapo Elkann.
