New Sunreef 80 Eco hits the water

5 May 2023 • Written by Gemma Harris

Polish shipyard Sunreef has launched a new unit of its Sunreef Eco 80 model.

The 24.4-metre catamaran is integrated with solar panels in the hull sides, superstructure and bimini roof ensuring the yacht can harness solar-electric power for fuel-free cruising.

Under sail the Sunreef 80 draws on a 200 square-metre main sail and can bank energy from the propeller rotation through an advanced hydro generation system.

The accommodation configuration is for up to 12 guests across twin hulls, with the en-suite master suite located in the starboard hull. A large amidships cabin can be found in the portside hull, alongside two identical guest cabins in the bow of each hull as well as an aft cabin.

Spanning across an 11.5-metre beam, the main deck saloon comprises lounging and dining areas as well as a concealed TV, bar and piano for entertaining. An alfresco dining space can be found aft. Meanwhile, the flybridge hosts additional lounging areas, Jacuzzi, sunpads and a wet bar.

This launch follows the news of another in-build Sunreef 80 Power Eco sold by Max Bulley at Y.CO earlier this year with delivery expected in 2025.
