Agantur Shipyard in Turkey has delivered the 38 metre steel Dhow-style superyacht Tornado to the UAE.
The superyacht, built at the yard’s Bodrum site, carries exterior lines reminiscent of the traditional Dhow, while down below there is a modern interior. With a full-beam master suite and four guest cabins, Tornado is decorated with hand-made crystals and gold-plated accessories, silk carpets, Sapelle wood and ultra-leather. Guests will also appreciate the comfort provided by TRAC 440-20X zero-speed stabilisers.
The yacht is fitted with twin 1400hp CAT engines that will give her a top speed of 16 knots. Cruising speed will be around 14 knots and the yard says she is compliant with RINA notation for Unrestricted Navigation. Within her beam of nine metres, Tornado has capacity to carry 10 crew.
The Agantur yard says Tornado is the sister yacht to the 31.7 meter Dhow motor yacht AD5, which was launched in 2012 and also built by Agantur Shipyard, part of the Özkalay Group.
The superyacht is the latest in Agantur’s line of custom and semi-custom builds, now numbering more than 30, utilising in-house design and engineering services. The yard also offers consultancy, maintenance and brokerage services. Agantur currently has a 14.9 metre motor trawler in build and a number of new projects, including a 30 metre ketch and a 47 metre three-masted sailing superyacht.
