Actress Nina Dobrev caused more than few jealous glances when she posted this image from the ultimate girls’ vacation aboard the 43.28 metre L’Albatros in July. Dobrev was holidaying with friends including Hillary Harley, Chandler Bailey and Tess Jantschek in St Tropez and the girls were sure to make the most of the extensive toy box – including a custom superyacht slide and some of the top jet skis on offer.

Actress and wife of Alec Baldwin, Hilaria Baldwin, took time off from tending to her three-week-old second child to return to her fist love, yoga, in July. Enjoying a relaxing time on board a luxury yacht with her husband, Baldwin captioned this image: "This is called: Carmen's on a play date and I left the fridge stocked with milk for Rafa. Mommy and Daddy are heading out for 2.5 hours."

After enjoying a romantic break with her boyfriend in  Sicily in July, model and actress Kelly Brook got ahead of the superyacht set with a luxury yacht getaway in  St Barths in August. Former-Spice Girl Geri Halliwell was spotted enjoying a luxury yacht vacation in St Tropez in August. The singer stayed on board the 25 metre semi-custom yacht Blue Quest II and was joined by her daughter, Bluebell Madonna, and new husband, F1 boss Christian Horner. The yacht comes equipped with some of the  best water toys for children while Halliwell and Horner got in on the fun by leaping from the yacht into the ocean below.

Reality TV stars Khloe Kardashian and Kendall Jenner - a  model fond of superyacht vacations - shared this snap while taking a  luxury yacht cruise in St Barts in August. The half-sisters are holidaying on the  Caribbean island with their large family and have been demonstrating their thrill seeking sides by riding jet-skis and giving flyboarding a try.

Actress Lindsay Lohan soaks up the last remaining Mediterranean rays as she enjoys a  luxury yacht cruise in St. Tropez in August. The star took to Instagram to show off the  superyacht's pool and hot tub, as well as making full use of its bespoke outdoor yacht gym equipment. This snap is from Lohan's second superyacht vacation of 2015, having already enjoyed a  luxury yacht charter in Greece in July.

Want to throw a birthday party worthy of Beyoncé? Then you’ll be needing the impressive 65 metre Heesen yacht Galactica Star. The singer was joined by her husband Jay-Z and daughter Blue Ivy for a Mediterranean superyacht charter in September where they were spotted visiting popular yachting hotspots including Sardinia, Naples and the French Riviera.

Singer Marc Anthony - best known as the ex-husband of Jennifer Lopez - demonstrated that you can mix work and pleasure when he shared this snap from a superyacht photoshoot on Instagram. The shoot took place on board the 36.5 metre Double Shot which was docked in Biscayne Bay ahead of the  Art Basel Miami Beach fair in December.

Husband and wife team Jennifer Hawkins and Jake Wall became the latest  models spotted on superyachts as they posed aboard a luxury vessel to launch their new tequila range, Sesión Premium Tequila, in December. The Australian beauty queen and former Miss Universe then joined her husband in hosting a star-studded bash at the riverside location in Sydney.

Despite clearly enjoying his  luxury yacht charter in Spain while it was happening, British singer Ed Sheeran revealed that he may have had a little too much fun and required surgery after bursting his ear drum while jumping off the yacht. Sheeran chartered the luxury yacht to celebrate the birthday of three friends and says, despite the incident, he enjoyed himself so much he would definitely spend time on a yacht again.

However, Sheeran is not the first star to fall foul of this popular yachting pastime. Footballer Memphis Depay, one of many  sports stars spotted on luxury yacht vacations, posted a video showing that his diving skills left much to be desired while on holiday this summer.
