Edmiston signs legendary motor yacht Christina O for sale

A piece of yachting history comes on the market as Bill Sanderson at Edmiston & Company tells me he's signed the 99.13m motor yacht Christina O for sale.

Built by Canada's Vickers yard in 1943 as a wartime frigate, she was bought by Greek shipping tycoon Aristotle Onassis for scrap value in 1954 and converted into a luxury superyacht. Guests included statesmen and stars like Winston Churchill, U.S. President John F. Kennedy, Marilyn Monroe, Frank Sinatra and, of course, U.S. First Lady Jaqueline Kennedy who subsequently married Onassis.

Totally rebuilt in 2001, Christina O is fully certified to carry 36 guests on charter while twin 2775hp MAN engines give her a cruising speed of 14 knots.

Lying in La Ciotat, France, Christina O is asking €25 million.
