The 34.17 metre Royal Huisman sailing yacht Spiip has been sold with David Lunn of Ocean Independence and Jamie Small of Burgess representing the seller and Mark Van Gelderen and Florence Xing of TWW Yachts representing the buyer.
Sloop-rigged, she was launched by Dutch builder Royal Huisman in 2000 and most recently refitted in 2021. Constructed in Alustar aluminium, she was built to ABS class and Pleasure Craft classification. Naval architecture comes from German Frers, with a contemporary interior styled by the UK's Andrew Winch Design Group.
Spiip is equipped with a carbon rig and in boom furling system from Martin Marine and she has a clean, simple deck arrangement with a self-tacking jib. Her keel has been developed using computational fluid dynamics analysis and she has a daggerboard that protrudes from within the bulb, increasing draft from 12.8’ to 19.00’, thereby maximizing upwind performance.
Her twin wheel steering stations feature consoles that can be rotated to give the helms person glare-free viewing while maintaining control of hydraulic sail functions and navigation equipment.
The light and airy interior of this yacht includes dining and seating areas, together with an inside steering station, all on one level. Accommodation is for six guests and two identical guest cabins aft lead through a central corridor to the owner's expansive cabin which includes a large his and hers walk-in wardrobe and his and hers bathrooms.
The main galley features granite counters and all stainless steel cabinetry. A large crew dinette leads off to the engine room entrance that allows operations to carry on without disturbance to the guest living areas.
Under power, Spiip can reach top speed of 11 knots and she boasts a maximum cruising range of 2,100 nautical miles at 9 knots, with power coming from a 415hp MTU 6R183TE72 diesel engine.
Spiip had a last known asking price of €4,950,000.
