The Genoa Boat Show is Italy’s premier boating event and attracts a huge range of exhibitors, from tenders to superyachts. This huge sprawling show, part on water, part on land, is held at the Fiera di Genova every October and attracts most of the major European production and semi-production builders. While you won’t find the really big superyacht yards here, there are plenty of boats up to around the 40m mark to view, as well as manufacturers of tenders, equipment, and water toys.
For anyone with an interest in all things maritime, Genoa is a fascinating place, steeped in history and tradition. Add to that a town blessed with some decent restaurants and hotels, with Portofino just down the coast, and it all adds up to a good place to spend a few days.
