US sportfish builder Viking Yachts has released a time-lapse video shot during the build of its new Viking 92 convertible sportfish superyacht. See the video below.
At 28.45m, this will be Viking's largest yacht yet in its 50-year history. The video shows the tooling process to create the new Viking flagship, which is set to debut at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show in 2014. Built in composite to an in-house design, the 92 will be available in open bridge (convertible) and enclosed bridge configurations.
The Viking 92 Convertible will offer roomy living spaces inside and out thanks to a 23-foot beam. She will accommodate 10 passengers in six en suite staterooms, including a full-beam master with a king-size walk-around bed, two double and two twin staterooms and separate crew quarters for two are accessible from the cockpit with aft access from the cockpit.
Like all Vikings, she'll be designed as a true fishing machine, and the first Viking 92 will feature a tuna tower from Palm Beach Towers, a Viking subsidiary. A key exterior feature are the dual mezzanine decks; one is found in the cockpit and the second on the main deck aft. The latter has rear-facing lounge seating as well as seating and a table for al fresco dining. This is complemented by an outdoor galley and grilling area.
