Superyachts to suit all styles: Pick one of these to cruise the Caribbean this winter

1 December 2021• Written by Laura Nicholls for Camper & Nicholsons

As the European summer comes to a close, the temperatures beyond the North Atlantic are becoming more and more appealing. Now with fewer restrictions and eager charterers keen to set sail, there is a yacht fleet ready to go in the Caribbean Sea destined for the many nearby paradise islands. In particular, the charter yachts managed by Camper & Nicholsons are there to suit all holiday types and desires, as proven by this list of top charter picks:

For those wanting to test out the waters sailing…

Try the 58m Twizzle

Twizzle is a timeless superyacht created by leading Dutch builders Royal Huisman to a design that pushed the limits of what was considered possible for a sailing yacht back in 2011. The custom design comes with a 3.8-metre minimum draft so she can tuck into the many desirable shallow anchorages. All of this and more is what has contributed to her winning multiple awards and gained her the reputation of being one of the best and well-maintained vessels on the charter market at the moment.

Having already completed two circumnavigations, Twizzle has an interior dedicated to keeping her guests comfortable. Designed by Redman Whiteley Dixon and Todhunter Earle, the inside spaces are formed of natural tones and stylish decor. Up to eight guests can stay across the plush four en-suite staterooms, including a vast, full-beam master suite replete with a study and spacious bathroom, two double suites, and one twin with an additional Pullman berth.

Guests can also make use of the sheltered aft cockpit and main cockpit that join onto the main saloon forward for a grand indoor-outdoor space surrounded by panoramic windows. Those who crave more closer-to-the-water action can get to grips with Twizzle’s toy store and the Laser Pico sailing dinghies, paddleboards, kayaks, snorkelling, dive gear, two 6.4-metre Castoldi jet tenders and more that is all accessible via the customised stern swim platform.

Twizzle is available for charter with her long-standing international crew from €235,000 p/w anywhere in the Caribbean.

For those wanting the ultimate wellness retreat...

Try Illusion V

Already a popular charter yacht, the 58-metre Benetti superyacht Illusion V has already wowed many with her desirable lifestyle features such as her top-deck Jacuzzi surrounded by cushioned sunpads and a full bar and beach area on her lower deck. Also outdoors is the sun deck that can be used as an alfresco dining area and an air-conditioned gym during the day or a stargazing spot at night through the yacht’s six skylight windows.

Not only can guests wind down and relax here, and in plenty of other well-designed outdoor spaces, but life inside the yacht comes with an abundance of dining, entertainment and relaxation areas all capable of delivering a different ambience for social needs.

Decorated in exotic materials such as walnut, onyx, Lalique crystal, parchment and silks, Illusion V captivates her guests with full-height windows and six large en-suite staterooms for 12 guests: a master suite with a private study, full-width VIP and four additional rooms.

With such a long list of artfully crafted features – including a Jetsurf board, a Snuba and Scuba gear, fishing equipment and inflatables in the toy store, as well as an onboard masseuse  – Illusion V guarantees a fantastic time at sea.

Illusion V is ready to go in the Bahamas with prices from $350,000 p/w.

For those in love with fashion…

Try Silver Angel

The 64.5-metre Silver Angel exudes style and class. Arranged over five decks, her vast interior volume is decorated in a sparkling and chic monochrome decor with white onyx, silver leaf, and Lalique crystal in a style that alternates between each living area and seven staterooms.

Joined by a magnificent central staircase, the areas inside Silver Angel are dedicated to living a life of luxury. Looked after by a crew of 19, the amenities on board include a state-of-the-art galley, a fully-equipped gym and steam room and a variety of saloons with entertainment systems and formal dining areas.

Outdoors, guests can bask in the sun on the art-deco themed sundeck with its elevated oval mosaic pool surrounded with sunpads and sheltered by glass windbreakers. Come sundown, a refreshing drink can be collected from the bar, with nearby deep-cushioned sofas to gather around before dining alfresco on the main deck. As you'd expect from a first-class charter yacht, Silver Angel also has an onboard massage therapist and an armada of water toys, including Jetskis, a golf machine and scuba diving equipment.

Silver Angel can be booked from $425,000 p/w this winter in the Maldives.

For wanting to experience a Perini Navi…

Try Blush (ex. Helios)

Built by Perini Navi to a design by Ron Holland in 2007, Blush has the trademark Perini lines with clean, uncluttered decks. Perfect for an exciting adventure at sail, she has plenty of space at 45.3 metres to keep up to 10 guests happy and comfortable. This comfort is due to her large deck areas and spacious flybridge where guests can admire the view while cruising, and her brilliant care under the ownership of her experienced yacht owner who invested in a modern interior refit by interior designer Sally Holmes in 2018.

Refitted in beautiful metallic and pastel pink hues, Blush's stylish interior comes with a mix of private and social areas. For example, each suite can be transformed into bigger or smaller rooms: the VIP double and two twin cabins can become doubles with Pullman bunks, whereas the master cabin can be divided in two by a mahogany wall panel. Also, the main saloon’s carefully placed furniture creates a bar area, a large seating area and a formal dining space. From here, glass doors open out onto the main aft deck where there are stairs leading up onto the flybridge or down to the swim platforms, nearby toy store and various sunbathing spaces.

Try out Blush this winter from just $150,000 p/w.

For a last-minute instant booking...

Try Fabulous Character

The award-winning 42.28-metre Fabulous Character is a full-custom design by the renowned Holland Jachtbouw shipyard. With space for up to 10 guests across five luxurious suites, she is the perfect charter option for a large family or a group of friends who wish to indulge in classic French Provencal style. Inside the symmetrical layout of Fabulous Character’s main deck, guests will find dining areas, the master suite and the main saloon decorated with limed oak in a subtle Asian design. From here, bi-fold doors connect the indoor and outdoor spaces, whereas sun awnings are located on the sundeck for extra shelter.

The central marble spiral staircase connects all three decks and can be used to reach the beach club, gym, swim platform, Jacuzzi on the sundeck, well-stocked toy store and four en-suite cabins on the lower deck. When moving around the yacht, everything is kept steady and comfortable thanks to the yacht’s at-anchor stabilisers.

Taken care of by nine crew members including a first-class chef, Fabulous Character is able to reach a top speed of 17 knots with the help of twin MTU 1930hp engines and two generators.

Fabulous Character is available to charter in the Bahamas and Caribbean this winter from $150,000 p/w.

For a relaxing time at sea…

Try the classic Feadship yacht Bella

Featuring all the expected features that come with a classic Feadship, the 45-metre Bella is a charming yacht with sleek lines and a Sinot design. Her four decks are home to amenities such as a crowd-pleasing sundeck and a Jacuzzi and a bridge deck aft with access to a delectable lounge area and elegant al fresco dining area. Another notable addition is the expendable swim platform that can serve as an on-water lounge or a fun way to get out to sea, either by one of the many toys or the 7.3-metre inflatable tender. It is here that the beach club area comes to life and guests can make the most of it by indulging in the spa and sauna.

Inside, the full-beam master cabin comes with 180-degree views, a skylight and a brand-new marble bathroom, whereas the remaining cabins are located between the main and upper decks all of which are decorated with light and cream furnishings and natural wood detailing and can fit a total of 12 guests. To fit in with the relaxing mood of Bella, she can reach a top speed of 15 knots – perfect for getting to know the Caribbean waters.

Bella can be chartered along with her exceptional and active crew from $220,000 p/w.
