How to secure four years’ warranty on your onboard stabilisation system

Superyacht ownership is, at its core, an exercise in trust - in the crew, in the design and, perhaps most critically, in the technology that underpins life on board. From propulsion to stabilisation, every system is expected to perform flawlessly, often far from shore and under demanding conditions. When it comes to onboard comfort, few components are as central - or as relied upon - as stabilisers.

It is this need for absolute confidence that frames the latest development from Quick Group. The company, widely recognised as one of the world’s leading manufacturers and suppliers of marine equipment for yachts and superyachts, has introduced an extended warranty programme for its Quick Gyro stabiliser range. It offers owners both longer coverage and a sense of assurance that one of their yacht’s most essential systems is protected over time.

Redefining onboard comfort

At the heart of the programme is the Quick Gyro itself – a gyroscopic stabiliser designed to significantly reduce roll both at anchor and underway. Unlike traditional fin stabilisers, gyros operate internally, using a rapidly spinning flywheel to generate stabilising forces. This means no external appendages, reduced drag and, critically, simplified installation across a broader range of vessel types.

The Quick Gyro has gained traction in recent years for its compact footprint, efficiency and adaptability, making it appealing for both new builds and refit projects. Its ability to improve onboard comfort without compromising performance has positioned it as a compelling solution in an increasingly experience-driven market, where guest comfort is paramount.

Extending protection, reducing uncertainty

Under the new programme, owners can extend the standard two-year warranty to a total of four years by registering their Quick Gyro via a dedicated online portal.

The extended warranty speaks to operational confidence. In the event of an issue, owners have the reassurance that their stabilisation system is supported for a longer period, reducing uncertainty and helping to ensure that onboard comfort is maintained without disruption.

The programme is available for eligible units and remains valid provided that periodic maintenance is carried out by authorised service centres or certified technicians – a stipulation that both safeguards performance and reinforces best practice across fleet operations.

“The extended warranty programme for the Quick Gyro stabiliser range reflects our commitment to product quality, reliability and long-term customer support,” states Andreas Karlsen, chief commercial officer at Quick Group. “It’s a true reflection of the confidence we have in our gyros.”

Engineering evolution at its core

The warranty initiative also reflects the ongoing development of the Quick Gyro range itself. Optimised flywheel mass contributes to stronger stabilisation forces, while improved efficiency reduces overall power consumption. Advances in control algorithms have also further refined responsiveness, ensuring smoother operation across varying sea states. Equally important is the optimisation of spool-up time, allowing the system to reach operational effectiveness more quickly. In practical terms, this translates to faster stabilisation when arriving at anchor.

Together, these developments underscore why the Quick Gyro continues to be positioned as a logical choice for a wide variety of vessels, from smaller yachts to larger superyachts.

Beyond the gyro itself, the extended warranty programme sits within a broader ecosystem. Quick Group’s evolving SeaCentric approach brings together multiple onboard systems into a coordinated platform, integrating technologies such as Intercepta interceptors, Viator fins, Xenta propulsion and control systems and Quick Nautical Equipment thrusters.

“The new extended warranty programme reinforces our philosophy of quality and development by offering extended coverage that protects boat owners’ investment over time and strengthens the relationship between Quick Group and our customers,” adds Karlsen.
