Ultimate Catamarans unveils its Q-Line series at Monaco Yacht Show 2026 — luxury power catamarans designed by Antonio Luxardo that combine 90-metre yacht features, energy-efficient hybrid propulsion and ocean-crossing capability in compact, customisable platforms from 26 to 61 metres.

The Q-Line, designed by Antonio Luxardo, will soft-launch at the 2026 Monaco Yacht Show. The famous analogy of a swan gliding on the surface of the water while all the hard work and action remain hidden beneath the waterline could have been invented for Ultimate Catamarans.
This is a company that makes the art of creating graceful, high-performance catamarans seem effortless. Yet behind the sinuous lines, ultra-luxurious, spacious interiors and effortless cruising, a highly accomplished international team works relentlessly to prioritise the essentials every superyacht owner needs but doesn't necessarily want to think about: safety, stability, operational handling, workable layouts, guest privacy, energy efficiency, redundancy, compliance… the list goes on.
"It has to be a ship first, then a superyacht," Olaf Steckstor, Ultimate's head of sales and business development, says. What he means by this is that every member of the Ultimate team is a seafaring expert and they build yachts based on their extensive experience sailing. This translates into power catamarans that not only withstand but also excel in real-world scenarios, giving owners more freedom to cruise wherever they wish with smooth, safe, dynamic performance. Once the essentials are perfected, then comes the sculptured design, palatial interiors and flawless finish. And with the new Q-Line series, Ultimate's innovation knows no bounds.
The cat that's a cut above
Ultimate is known for its skill in incorporating the unique selling points of a 90-metre yacht within far more compact designs — even down to a 26-metre.
The team's expertise creates designs that can be adapted to the bespoke life and world each client desires. Every detail is considered. Steckstor gives the example of the elevated front terrace that gives Ultimate Catamarans cruising options far beyond coastlines, as there's no risk of water flooding the deck on the high seas — a problem for many catamarans with close-to-sea-level terraces.
He points to the enclosed captain's cabin on the full-beam bridge. This feature — generally found only on much larger yachts — appears even on its smallest model, the S88. It not only enhances safety but also means guests have more privacy and peace away from the crew and operational noise of the yacht.
Steckstor also highlights the hull choice of aluminium instead of plastic, again for safety reasons, but also because aluminium gives a stiffer hull, allowing for greater adjustment. "The advantage of a modular, very flexible vessel means we have the freedom to adjust dimensions to meet every client's wish," he says. Cabins, owner areas, guest spaces, crew flow and interior design are developed entirely around the individual owner's preferences.
Introducing the Q-Line series
The new Q-Line series — built at Croatia's Iskra Shipyard — is a distinct evolution of Ultimate Catamaran's existing S-Line. Italian designer Antonio Luxardo was given total freedom to create something truly extraordinary.
"The project was very stimulating," he says. "Having to innovate the forms and style of a yacht that has very different shapes and proportions from a monohull gave me the idea of creating something more sculptural and less rigid — trying to create a form that at first glance does not bring to mind a catamaran, but has very soft, sinuous shapes."
The result is four highly innovative designs: the Q110, Q140, Q170 and Q200. From the entry-level Q110 to the flagship Q200, Luxardo has honed the aesthetics so that as the gaze travels from stern to bow, and bow to stern, the profile is soft and fluid with distinctive features. "The horizontal element, for example, reaches beyond the bow to give continuity and identity," explains Luxardo. "The view from the bow is tall and imposing, with the profile sloping towards a low stern that allows a connection with the sea, something that's not common in this type of boat."
A priority was to incorporate as many features as possible associated with 90-metre-plus yachts. The result is high ceilings throughout, including for staircases, all guest cabins designed as large VIP suites or private apartments on the main deck, rather than conventional lower-deck cabins and a high bow and closed main deck, combined with the wide beam, for safe ocean-crossing capability. The generous beam also allows for unusually spacious private areas. A full private owner's deck is just one option in a fully custom-designed interior and exterior layout.
The Q140, for example, has 457 square metres of dedicated guest interior space and 464 square metres of exterior living space, comparable to a 65-metre monohull. The beam in no way compromises the Q-Line in terms of berthing — a common concern for catamaran owners. Ultimate Catamarans has thought of this too.
"In many Mediterranean marinas, securing a 60- to 65-metre berth can be challenging," admits Steckstor. "A wider berth for a substantially shorter yacht can be easier to find. The beam therefore does not automatically create a disadvantage; the shorter overall length can be an operational benefit."
Energy-efficient hybrid propulsion
Another advantage of an Ultimate catamaran is energy efficiency — an increasingly important consideration with stricter international emissions regulations on the horizon. "The benefit of a catamaran hull form is that it requires substantially less propulsion energy than a monohull, providing comparable, usable guest space," says Steckstor.
Complementing this, Ultimate equips its vessels with advanced hybrid propulsion systems, or, even better, the TRI-HYBRID system, which adds marine fuel-cell capability to the hybrid architecture. From the main switchboard onward, the yacht is electric.
Fully customisable catamaran yachts
When you own the ultimate catamaran, you expect the ultimate in service, support and choice. The company therefore offers fully customised interior and exterior options on all builds — even entirely bespoke designs. What's more, owners get a commercial shipbuilding contract and a guaranteed delivery time.
This extends across the new Q-Line and the existing S-Line, which comprises an S88, S120 and S150 — with an S180 and S210 at concept stage. A more classic expression of Ultimate Catamarans, the S-Line has strong, distinctive profiles that honour the same principles of space, efficiency and full interior customisation.
Ultimate's Yacht Support vessel is the final touch. The YS150 tender offers yacht-support capabilities comparable to many 60-metre monohull support vessels but has the stability of a catamaran platform. This is a major benefit when it comes to deployment and recovery operations and lifting and launching equipment and toys. It's just one more detail that defines the Ultimate offering.
