Why has this jet-powered tender become so popular?

When Williams Jet Tenders debuted its 7.1-metre EvoJet 70 craft at the 2019 Monaco Yacht Show, the idea was that this would be an exclusive product with only a limited number of units made. Fast forward three years, and the demand for larger tenders and Williams products has forced the builder to scale up its production.

With prospective owners now able to take delivery of their new EvoJet 70 as early as 2024, we take a look behind the doors at the Williams Jet Tenders facility in Oxfordshire, UK, to find out more about what makes this tender so popular.

Power and performance

One of the most impressive features of the EvoJet 70 is its power and performance. It is powered by a state-of-the-art Yanmar 4LV diesel jet engine that delivers a top speed of over 40mph, making any journey quick and easy with the added thrill of high-speed boating.

Delivering 250 horsepower, Williams’ iconic jet control system has been improved to be even more responsive. If an owner chooses to operate their craft independently, they can drive via the single lever throttle and achieve pinpoint accuracy at any speed.

Spacious and stylish

At 7.1 metres, the EvoJet is the largest tender in the Williams range and has enough space for up to 13 guests across the various comfortable upholstered seats. With its sweeping curves, clean lines, and aerodynamic shape, the boat's stylish design is the first thing that catches the eye.

The tender has been carefully designed to be both robust and light, with an overall dry weight of 2,000kg. She has been designed to provide a comfortable and dry ride even in choppy conditions – a crucial feature in any superyacht tender carrying guests. The inflatable tubes surrounding the hull are available in three different colourways, while seating and interiors come in 12 shades. There is also a wide range of options, accessories and weather protection to enhance the boating experience. The various customisations can be seen on Williams’ “build my tender” online configurator and include bespoke customisation for those who would like the name of the mothership added to the tender’s upholstery and tube.

Comfort and safety

Guests travelling on the EvoJet 70 will find boarding incredibly easy and simple. The design features multiple boarding locations with low-level platforms – including at the transom – and removable handrail poles. If travelling after dark, the concealed LED deck lighting can be turned on to illuminate every pathway and boarding location around the boat.

For the driver, the helm seat can easily fold out of the way if a standing position is preferred. The rear seat can also be folded to provide easy access to the bathing platform.

Maintaining the company’s status as the world’s leading jet tender specialist, the team at Williams hand-builds each tender to a high level of quality. All of the Williams products are built to meet the firm’s high safety standards, and every unit undergoes an on-water test procedure to ensure that each aspect of its construction is checked.

Multifunctional

The EvoJet 70 is ideal for any excursion. Users can cruise close to the coastline, explore inside hidden coves and enjoy high-speed water sports. Cleverly incorporated into the design under the seats and in various cubbyholes is 235 litres of storage space to ensure guests are travelling safely with everything they could need for a day on the water.

Other onboard amenities include a fresh-water shower, a passenger seat coolbox, AIS Transceiver, VHF Radio, battery charger, sunbathing pad, dining table, bathing ladder and flag pole. The EvoJet 70 also comes with a range of advanced features and technology, including a touch-screen display, integrated sound system, and advanced navigation and safety systems.

To make the tender suitable for any mothership over 40 metres LOA, Williams has devised a carbon fibre T-Top that can fold down to allow fitments into restricted height garages. When erect, this T-top provides ample shade and protection for the helm and gives the tender a height of 1.79 metres.

Whether you are a yacht designer, superyacht shipyard, or captain looking to upgrade an existing tender the EvoJet 70 is sure to impress with its superior quality, design, and performance. To find out more, contact the team at Williams directly here.
