In the buzzing city of Barcelona, the 85-metre superyacht Ace is moored and waiting for a new owner. With interest in the 2012 Lürssen yacht heightening, the brokers at Burgess have revealed more about Ace and how she is a yacht famed for her charismatic lines, quality design, first-class maintenance programme and unique characteristics.
But Ace, exceptionally well maintained throughout her 10 years of life by her one and only owner, is not just a pretty face. The vast 2,732 GT superyacht, which is currently on the market, has plenty going for her. Here are just a few of her remarkable interior traits:
Best for luxury entertaining
As part of her layout by Winch Design, Ace’s upper deck is the social hub of the boat, and it is here guests can make use of the dining saloon, sitting room, library with fireplace, piano and games table. This deck also includes an air-conditioned tearoom, as well as a formal forward-facing lounge.
Ace’s opulent interiors lend an alluring quality to her interior design, which thoroughly lives up to her namesake. Think marbles, semi-precious stones, and charming details including a hand-carved headboard in a contemporary ribbon design. In the yacht’s master suite, guests will find expertly crafted floral marquetry above the bookshelves.
This suite is a showstopper on board, and home to panoramic ocean views. Having an undisrupted vista was a non-negotiable feature in her original owner’s design brief and was made possible thanks to the added bulwarks on the aft deck that can drop down above the surface of the ocean.
All this is framed by her exterior sweeping arches — likened to the “fantastic power of a wave” by exterior designer Winch Design — along with two oval balconies referred affectionately to as her “eyes”.
Featuring a cinema room with tiered seating, a gym, and a beauty salon, Ace is a yacht kitted out to keep her guests happy and healthy during long journeys at sea. With features such as a Roman-style Jacuzzi and plunge pool, there’s plenty of water space for family and friends to use to cool off and have fun. Plus, her spa, with a sauna and hammam, are there for when the time comes to relax.
For easy access to Ace, the yacht also features a touch-and-go helipad where helicopters can land, even in choppy waters, thanks to her Quantum XT zero speed stabilisers, which keep the platform steady for take-off and landing.
Like any yacht worth her sea salt, Ace is also fully equipped with tenders and toys which include an 8.9-metre Hinckley Talaria tender, 9.4-metre Zodiac, scuba diving equipment, SeaBobs, Jet Skis and inflatables.
