The countdown to the Monaco Yacht Show has begun, and 2018 promises to be the best year yet. The Principality is set to welcome 120+ of the finest superyachts in the world, including 40 never-before-seen new build yachts launched by the world’s top shipyards and making their premiere at the event.
Unique classic sailing yachts always attract visitors on board, standing out in port from the many modern motor yachts on display. 39 metre Rainbow, developed from the original plans of the 1934 America's Cup winner, is the only J-Class yacht in the show, and her appointment schedule is already booking up. “An iconic J-Class, Rainbow sets the benchmark for quality at this year’s show,” says YPI Sales & New Construction Broker and experienced sailing yacht specialist Will Bishop. “She is in immaculate condition following considerable investment in a 2016 refit, in addition to having one of the most competent and capable crews onboard.”
For a buyer looking for a more modern design, whether a motor or sailing yacht, the Monaco Yacht Show is the best showcase in the world, and with so much on offer it’s important to work alongside a trusted broker who will match you with the most suitable yachts using in-depth knowledge of every yacht in the show, from its build history and maintenance to its performance and potential future cruising potential.
This year’s show includes many keenly awaited new launches. Huge anticipation is building around the biggest new yacht to be unveiled at this year’s show: the 90 metre Oceanco DAR. “One of the biggest yachts in the show, DAR is a brand new yacht with a simply stunning design,” says YPI Senior Sales Broker Matt Albert. “Any new launch from Oceanco is a cause for excitement and I am very much looking forward to taking clients on board.”
Brokers are also enthusiastic about Sanlorenzo’s new offering, the 47 metre 500EXP, an advancement of the Italian shipyard’s previous explorer concept. “The 500EXP represents an exciting evolution of the highly respected and popular Sanlorenzo 460EXP series,” explains YPI Sales Broker Charles Jones. “She is a true explorer with ample space for large toys and tenders, as well as a helipad, which is unique for a boat her size.”
And this show is not only about large yachts: it is also the ideal showcase for the innovation in tenders. As well as a new dedicated tenders and toys section, newly launched tenders will be transporting VIP guests between yachts and pontoons. The outstanding new 16.5 metre EVO 55 by Tecnomar – The Italian Sea Group will be at anchor and is available for sea trials by appointment, and the stylish 12.2 metre Canelli Revolutio 39 will be available throughout the show to YPI clients.
