Ferretti Group targets the 100m market in Ancona investment

Ferretti Group has secured approval for the expansion of its Ancona Superyacht Yard at the Port of Ancona. The development will increase the facility's maximum yacht-building capability from 90 to 100 metres as the Italian yacht builder eyes further growth in the upper echelons of the market.

The authorisation, signed on 21 October 2026 by Giosy Romano, single coordinator of the ZES  (Special Economic Zone) for the Mezzogiorno region, and Mirco Carloni, president of the Central Adriatic Sea Port System Authority, is the first issued under the ZES single-authorisation framework in the Port of Ancona following the extension of the measures to the Marche Region.

With the application approved in just 54 days, construction work is now expected to take around six months and cost nearly €3 million. Ferretti Group added that the estimated initial economic impact on the local area is about €30 million, which will open the door for “further significant investments” in the future.

Stassi Anastassov, global CEO of Ferretti Group, commented: “This is what happens when industry and institutions share the same determination to move forward. But our ambition is not simply to build bigger yachts. It is to build the world’s most desirable yachts, setting new standards in design, quality, technology and innovation. And we want to do it here, in Italy.”

Covering around 80,000 square metres, the Ancona Superyacht Yard is core to Ferretti Group as one of its most important industrial assets and a strategic manufacturing centre for its superyacht operations.

The shipyard added that the expansion aims to bolster Ferretti Group’s position in the upper end of the market, broaden its future product development opportunities and enhance its capacity to compete for increasingly ambitious projects in Italy.

“The Ancona Superyacht Yard is a remarkable centre of shipbuilding expertise, and this expansion is another step towards unlocking its full potential,” added Anastassov.

“I want to thank the Port System Authority, the Marche Region, the City of Ancona and the ZES authorities for their commitment and collaboration. When Italian excellence meets ambition and speed, extraordinary things become possible.”
