Ciarmoli Queda Studio

History

Milan-based design studio CQS was founded by Simone Ciarmoli and Miguel Queda, both of whom still work in the practice as art director and design director respectively. Employing some seven architects and three visual designers, the studio encompasses naval and land architecture along with interior design, visual and art direction across a broad range of projects including retail designer outlets and other land-based activities.

Notable yachts

The studio’s superyacht design projects include the 106 metre Poseidonos motor yacht conversion in Greece for which CQS has done the luxury interior design and bespoke furniture design. The studio also designed the interior and furniture for 36 metre custom motor yacht Caramel, built by Numarine in Turkey and launched in 2010.

Specialisations

With a broad palette of architecture and luxury interior design skills, it was CQS’s work on the modern interior design of Numarine Caramel that drew the attention of the Poseidonos project – the conversion of a passenger ferry to a six-deck modern superyacht. Clients in the more general practice have included private residences, Jimmy Choo Mens concept store design and work with Montblanc, Peuterey and Swarovski.
